EcoMedia Vignette 1-800-GOT-JUNK? And The New York Botanical Garden

The New York Botanical Garden is located on 250 lush acres in the heart of New York City, and offers individuals the opportunity to connect with nature. In addition to serving as a museum of plants, the New York Botanical Garden is also a world-renowned center for scientific research, biodiversity and conservation. The New York Botanical Garden’s Home Gardening Center is New York’s one-stop resource to learn about plants and promote sustainable gardening practices at the Garden and throughout the Tri-State area.

Funding provided by 1-800-GOT-JUNK? through the EcoAd program has supported the renovation and replanting of the home gardening center lawns, which will decrease the need for fertilizer input, create more efficient water usage, and reduce runoff waste. This project is part of the Garden’s overall strategy of employing and promoting sustainable gardening practices, serving as a working example for private landscapes and gardens and making information available to home gardeners in the New York Tri-State area.

In addition, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has provided waste hauling services to help support the New York Botanical Garden’s operations and sustainability initiatives.
