TD Canada Trust Branches in Windsor/Essex hosts Electronics Recycling Events

TD Canada Trust branches in Windsor/Essex County will now be accepting E-Waste at select branches every Saturday until October 15, 2011.

A test pilot program conducted last year at 3 branches generated almost 1,500 electronics in only three days. This program has now been expanded to include almost 50 different branches.

Customers and members of the general public are encouraged to drop off all their old electronics and e-waste such as TVs, personal computers and peripherals (mice, laptop, keyboards, and speakers), desktop printers, monitors, cell phones and smartphones, batteries, mp3 players and more. As an added incentive, Canadians who recycle their electronics at the participating branches will be entered in a draw to win a Smart Car.

TD Canada Trust is committed to being an environmental leader by reducing their operational impact and starting projects to create carbon offsets that have community benefits. As of the end of 2010, 98% of e-waste from TD was diverted from landfills, where the majority was refurbished and donated to charities.

In Windsor/Essex County there are 3 more E-Recycling events scheduled.
September 3 is at the TD Canada Trust in Belle River on Notre Dame St.
September 10 is in Kingsville on Main St.
September 17 is in Tecumseh at the corner of Tecumseh Rd. E. and Southfield.
