This is a new Texas Pride trailer and want to share with you how well it was built since i was unable to find good working videos of these trailers anywhere on Youtube.
Don’t let the winch dragging sound discourage you, I didn’t have the batteries charged and it comes prepped to hook a snatch up to the winch to double pulling power.
Only reason I didn’t go with a trailer with a separate onboard engine was I didn’t want an extra engine to take care of.
Adding the snatch block really helped a lot, and I don’t seem to have any problems with the cable twisting but I may have trouble with the cable flattening in the future but we are very experienced with that aspect. I’m not sure how long the winch will last but I don’t have to worry about the batteries discharging because the dump is an hour away. lol
One major strength is a lifetime weld warranty, They use really strong parts and I keep finding little shortcuts and tricks they have added to make loading and unloading fast. A weakness was the controllers, it came with a remote that plugs into the winch and another switch on the side of the trailer, all I did to fix this problem was I added control switches inside the truck.
Before you pick and buy a big sized trailer make sure you can fill it with the heaviest thing you can think of that you would haul in it, and make sure it won’t go over the licensed weight limit. That’s how I chose mine, it is almost impossible to go over 50,000lbs with mine.
When i’m towing a full load, honestly the only way I can tell there is a full load is going up the long passes. The trailer itself is very stable and can handle itself very well.
Further more, that knocking sound you hear in the engine is a push rod making its way through a rocker arm, problem has since been fixed.
